Hi, I'm Jennifer and welcome to my world at Blue Swallow Bookkeeping. Working with numbers and keeping things organised has always been rewarding for me. 

My journey into bookkeeping began whilst working as a personal assistant in my first job in my home country of South Africa. Working at an accounting firm exposed me to the world of accounts and auditing, sparking my interest. I enrolled on an evening bookkeeping course for fun - yes, call me crazy! From there, I decided to steer my career in the direction of bookkeeping.

I earned my Certificate in Business Accounting with CIMA and gained experience as an accounts assistant with a marine engineering company in The Waterfront, Cape Town. Later, my husband and I moved to the UK and I worked with an accounting firm in Richmond, London gaining valuable insights into various business types and clients.

After having our two children, my husband and I decided to home educate, and this became my primary focus until 2022. During that time, I also worked part-time alongside my husband as finance partner in our commercial management business within the construction sector.

As my home educator days came to an end, I pursued further professional certification with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) which empowered me to launch my own bookkeeping practice - and here I am today!

With over a decade of experience in the field and the ongoing support of the largest bookkeeping institute (ICB), I take pride in using my skills to assist fellow business owners with their day-to-day financial needs.
